Meet the presenter
Georgina Godwin is one of the most trusted voices in global conversation, known for her crisp curiosity, impeccable research, and warm, incisive interviewing style. She is the presenter of Visionary, the new podcast profiling the boldest thinkers, makers, and change agents of our time. Her work with Wondercast — a must-read and must-listen digest of newsletters and podcasts offering cultural clarity and intellectual insight — has cemented her reputation as a sharp, worldly guide to the ideas and individuals shaping the modern moment.
Georgina is also a key fixture at Monocle, where she presents The Globalist, the daily current affairs programme broadcast from London and Zürich. She also serves as Monocle’s Books Editor, anchoring Meet the Writers, where authors, artists, and thought leaders open up under her trademark calm and considered style.
From conversations with Brian Eno and Anni-Frid Lyngstad of ABBA to Oscar-winners like Sally Field and Dustin Lance Black, Georgina has a knack for drawing out the essential. Her author interviews read like a who’s who of contemporary literature — Ian McEwan, James Ellroy, Markus Zusak, Ben Okri, and most Booker Prize winners since 2014 — all of whom find in her a thoughtful, prepared and deeply engaged counterpart.
Beyond the studio, Georgina is a fixture on the international literary festival circuit — a regular chair at Hay and Cheltenham, and a sought-after host in cities from Melbourne to Mexico City, Colombo to Cluj. She has moderated stages for institutions as varied as the British Museum, BFI, the National Theatre and the California Wine Institute.
Born in Zimbabwe, she was a founding member of SWRadio Africa, the country’s first independent radio station — an act of journalistic defiance that earned her a ban from her homeland. She also co-founded the Harare International Festival of the Arts. Today, she serves on the boards of English PEN and Developing Artists, and is a fellow of the Gabriel García Márquez Foundation.
